And as we all know, God has a wonderful sense of humor.
We only need to pay attention to history to see that.
How many times have scholars confidently asserted that certain parts of the Bible can’t be true because there’s no archaeological evidence to support them, only to be proved wrong by new archaeological evidence?
Wow Heidi, I can't believe you built a high school blogging empire... original Gossip Girl!! As someone who also had a high school blog (though an anonymous one unrelated to anyone I knew IRL) having the principal slam down a printout of the whole thing would have been my NIGHTMARE!
Haha I’ve had a few people say the same thing but I had already graduated before “Gossip Girl” was a thing, so I never watched it. I’m in the “Mean Girls” + Burn Book generation.
I love this! I love memoir style writing and I love the Aussie references! You wouldn't be able to tell you were such a rebel from your beautiful, godly writing now! Didn't we all do ridiculous, regretful things and teens, even if we were already Christians 😬 I cringe at some things I said and did 🙈
So fun to have Aussie readers pick up on the references ☺️ and thanks for the kind words. Even in writing this, I was shocked by the person I once was and how much God has changed and softened my heart!
Oh My dear friend, I laughed and I was moved by your story. We would be good friends in high school. I too didn’t quite follow the rules and probably didn’t have the best choice of friends (as my parents would tell me). So thankful for Gods grace in our lives
Yuni!! Glad someone appreciates my humour LOL! Only God knows the world may have ended if me, you and Mikey were high-school friends. In His kindness, we met at the perfect time and He has sustained us through soooo much! I'm forever grateful for your leading to me Jesus, and that you showed me that He truly does love the rule-bending-chaotic-energy girls as well. LOVE U! x
It was so entertaining to read! And so awesome how God used that experience of being suspended to make you the writer that you are today! Reminds me of the promise that I made to never become a Korean pastor 😂 Thank you so much for this piece! 😊
Glad my chaotic life decisions can be entertaining 😅 looks like in God’s grace, the joke is on you too 😬 looking forward to reading your mini memoir about it haha
I love this piece Heidi, and not just because of our shared history (when you described our grade being called into an emergency meeting, I had this rush of deja vu!). It’s such a joy to follow your journey from the days of teenage blogging to the wonderfully insightful writer you are now, from high school rebel to a woman of faith. Throughout you remain refreshingly honest, funny and incredibly endearing 💛
I’m relieved you recall this. 😅 There’s a past version of me that seems so wild, it makes me seriously question some of my core memories. This comment is too kind! 🥲
Wow. You’re an amazing writer.
That’s so kind, Janae, thanks for stopping by to read this mini memoir!
Wow—what a story! 😆 And what testament to God’s grace! Thanks for sharing, Heidi!
Thanks Kezia for surviving this story and encouraging me 😅🙏🏻
Jokes on you?
It’s one of the better jokes I’ve heard.

Heidi you are so gangsta! ... and I'm so thankful to Marcus and Clara too!
Haha Euge, I'm tired and mellow now. So special that you know the people I'm referring to!
Wow what a story 😂 incredible how God can turn a person 180 degrees. The gift you were once using for evil, now you are using for good ❤️
Hi Debbie! Thanks for reading, and hanging on till the end!
