I really enjoyed reading this and i’m happy to have stumbled across it, Heidi 😊 It’s so true that a restaurant can be a symbol of something larger, I remember an old 1980s-style McD’s closing in my local area to make way for urban development, and while it wasn’t immigrant-owned, a lot of immigrants had spent hours there for decades and a lot of memories were in that place. Hope the new Super Bowl still tastes as good! ;)

This is such a beautiful and moving piece, Heidi! I love how you captured so many stories across generations and between communities through the story of the Super Bowl restaurant. So much of what you wrote really resonated for me. And that picture of the neonlit restaurant front of Super Bowl evokes a lot of nostalgia. I’m happy to read that they’re open again, even if under different management 💛
